Extermination Processing Tower

<< Back

Extermination Processing Tower ” is the second full-length of Objekt 4. With this project, Anders Peterson from Sweden has delivered quite some releases by now. Among them a couple of EP’s, like “Facilty 77” and “World Of Ruin” (also reviewed on this site). After the first release “Here Face Among The Shadows” it is now time for the second full-length release. Within fifty minutes we get to listen to nine tracks, which can almost all be categorized as dark ambient. The music is very well done, exciting, full of tension, clean and really gets you by the throat. The artwork is scary, the title choices spherical (‘From The Disfigured Void’, ‘From Beyond The Disfigured Void’, ‘A Sky Of Bloodstained Steel’).

Other than on for example the EP “World Of Ruin”, Peterson experiments with different genres on this release, especially on the tracks ‘Minisex’ and ‘Encrypted M2’. These songs really stand out, but unfortunately, not in a positive way. The songs aren't bad at all, but the music of Peterson is very compelling and nerve wrecking because of the way the songs are arranged, which makes sound explosions and experiments like the ones in these two tracks very inappropriate. Suddenly all the tension is gone and Peterson has to try his best to get the creepy feeling back again.

When you leave these two songs out, you can really enjoy this nice dark ambient release, with its good production, good sound and spooky mood.
And if we put the track 'Encrypted M2'  on a noise compilation, this one will also get the proper attention and appreciation.
